Perimenopause and menopause bring real hormonal changes—but they can also affect your emotional well-being, relationships, stress levels, and sense of identity.
Many women are surprised by new anxiety, increased emotional sensitivity, irritability, difficulty sleeping, brain fog, burnout, or the feeling that they simply don't feel like themselves anymore.
These experiences are real.
Hormones play an important role, and I encourage women to seek medical support when needed.
At the same time, I'm so interested in the ways this season of life can also interact with our nervous system, our past experiences, and the patterns we've carried for years.
Research into the connection between menopause, mental health, and trauma is growing.
While we still have much to learn, many clinicians are recognizing what countless women have been telling us: this transition can bring long-held emotions and unresolved experiences closer to the surface.
Rather than seeing that as something "going wrong," I often see it as an invitation to pay attention.
Sometimes the coping strategies that carried us through earlier decades no longer work.
Sometimes old relationship wounds, chronic stress, or unresolved trauma begin asking for our attention in new ways.
This can make midlife an especially meaningful time for therapy.
Through online EMDR, somatic therapy, attachment-based therapy, mindfulness, and creative approaches, I help women gently work with both the emotional and nervous system patterns that may be contributing to their distress.
Together, we'll create space to better understand what's happening in your body and mind while helping your nervous system find greater steadiness and resilience.

I don't see menopause as something to "fix."
I see it as one of life's profound transitions—a season that invites many women to slow down, listen differently, and reconnect with themselves in new ways.
Having walked through this season myself, I know it can ask difficult questions. I also know it can become a time of remarkable growth, healing, and clarity.
If you're finding that this season is asking something new of you, I'd be honored to walk alongside you.
