Holistic Healing in Therapy

Holistic Therapy for Women in Midlife and Beyond

Evidence-Based Trauma Therapy With Room for Body, Creativity, Meaning & Spirit

Healing is deeply personal.

My work is grounded in evidence-based psychotherapy, including EMDR, Somatic Experiencing®, attachment-based therapy, and nervous system-informed approaches.

But you are more than your thoughts, your symptoms, or the things that have happened to you.

I believe healing can also draw upon the resources that give your life meaning, strength, connection, and hope.

For some women, that includes spirituality.

Your Spiritual Life Is Welcome Here

If your faith or spirituality is an important part of your life, you don't have to leave it outside the therapy room.

We can make space for the beliefs, traditions, practices, and sources of meaning that are already important to you—whether those are rooted in Christianity, Catholicism, another spiritual tradition, connection with nature, or a spirituality that is uniquely your own.

Prayer, meditation, imagery, symbolism, nature, intuition, and other personally meaningful resources can sometimes become powerful sources of grounding, resilience, and connection during therapy.

I won't tell you what to believe.

My role is to understand what gives you meaning, direction, strength, and a sense of connection—and, when appropriate, help you draw upon those resources in support of your therapeutic goals.

When You're Open to Something More

I'm also a Reiki Master and trained Shamanic Reiki practitioner.

For women who are interested in energy-based approaches, Reiki, imagery, energy awareness, and other holistic practices may be thoughtfully woven into our therapy in support of the work we're already doing.

Depending on your interests, beliefs, and therapeutic goals, our work might include:

  • Somatic mindfulness and nervous system awareness
  • Guided imagery and visualization
  • Meditation, prayer, or your own spiritual practices
  • Mindful Self-Compassion
  • Nature-based reflection and connection
  • Reiki or Womb Reiki
  • Chakra or energy awareness
  • Exploration of rhythms, cycles, or other personally meaningful traditions

These practices are always optional and integrated only when they are appropriate to our psychotherapy work.

You don't need to be spiritual, believe in energy work, or participate in any of these practices to work with me.

And you don't have to choose between evidence-based trauma therapy and the parts of healing that may be harder to measure or put into words.

There can be room for both.

Therapy That Reflects the Whole of You

My clinical foundation remains psychotherapy. EMDR, Somatic Experiencing®, attachment work, and nervous system-informed therapy provide a strong foundation for what we do together.

Holistic practices aren't a replacement for mental health treatment. They are additional resources we may draw upon when they are meaningful to you and supportive of your therapy goals.

Sometimes we'll use them.

Sometimes we won't.

The goal isn't to fit you into my way of healing. It's to discover what supports yours.

Together, we'll create a therapy experience that reflects your values, your goals, and the unique ways you find meaning, healing, connection, and hope.

Innate Capacity

“I have come to the conclusion that human beings are born with an innate capacity to triumph over trauma. I believe not only that trauma is curable, but that the healing process can be a catalyst for profound awakening—a portal opening to emotional and genuine spiritual transformation.”
