Gentle EMDR Intensives for Women

Virtual EMDR Intensives for Women

Virtual EMDR Intensives for Women

More Time. More Spaciousness. Less Rushing.

Sometimes a traditional therapy hour simply isn't enough time.

Just as you're beginning to settle into the work, connect with what your nervous system is communicating, and begin processing, it may already be time to start wrapping up.

EMDR Intensives offer a longer, more spacious window for focused trauma work—without the pressure of watching the clock.

What Is an EMDR Intensive?

An EMDR Intensive is an extended therapy session focused on a particular memory, experience, relationship pattern, or area of your life that continues to feel unresolved.

Rather than trying to fit preparation, processing, and settling back into a traditional therapy hour, we intentionally create more time for the work.

That gives us space to arrive, get grounded, gently approach what needs attention, and allow time for your nervous system to settle before we finish.

Intensive doesn't mean pushing harder. It means having more room.

Why Choose an EMDR Intensive?

There are times when having a larger window

for therapy simply makes sense.

You may have a particular experience from the past

that continues to affect you.

Perhaps you keep finding yourself caught in the same relationship pattern, emotional reaction, or belief about yourself—even though you understand where it came from.

Or you may be in a season of life when something old has resurfaced and you're ready to give it focused attention.

For women in midlife and beyond, this can sometimes happen as relationships change, children become adults, parents age, menopause shifts how you experience yourself, or you begin questioning patterns you've carried for years.

An intensive gives us dedicated time to listen to what is asking for attention.

What Does an Intensive Feel Like?

We don't simply schedule a longer appointment and spend the entire time processing trauma.

Preparation is part of the work.

We'll identify what you'd like to focus on, explore what your nervous system needs to feel supported, and establish resources we can return to throughout the session.

During the intensive, I'll continue paying attention to your responses and nervous system cues. We can slow down, pause, shift direction, move, rest, or spend more time resourcing whenever that's what's needed.

There is no prize for getting through something quickly.

The goal is meaningful processing while staying connected to yourself and the present.

Why Do an EMDR Intensive Virtually?

Doing an intensive from home removes the commute and allows you to create a comfortable environment around you before we begin.

You can have familiar grounding resources nearby and settle into a space that feels supportive.

And when our work is finished,

you don't have to immediately get into a car and navigate the outside world.

You can simply give yourself some space.

I'll guide the EMDR process virtually, and we'll choose a form of bilateral stimulation that works comfortably for you.

You don't have to manage the process yourself. I'm there with you throughout the work.

Is an EMDR Intensive Right for Me?

An intensive may be worth exploring if:

  • There's a particular memory, experience, or pattern you want to address.
  • Traditional sessions sometimes don't provide enough time to settle into deeper work.
  • You understand your patterns but still feel their effects emotionally or physically.
  • Something from your past seems to be resurfacing during your current stage of life.
  • You and I recognize that having more uninterrupted time could support the work we're already doing together.

An intensive isn't automatically the right choice for everyone.

We'll talk about what you're hoping to work on and whether an intensive feels like an appropriate and supportive way to approach it.

You Don't Have to Resolve Everything at Once

An intensive isn't about trying to fix your entire history in one session.

It's about creating enough time and space to give meaningful attention to something that is ready to be approached.

Sometimes healing needs movement.

Sometimes it simply needs more room.

Interested in an EMDR Intensive?

I provide EMDR Intensives for established clients as part of our ongoing therapy together.

So, we begin at the beginning.

If you're interested in EMDR Intensives,

let me know when you reach out.

During our initial assessment and early therapy sessions, we'll get to know you, your history, your nervous system, and what you're hoping to change.

From there, I can offer recommendations about your treatment plan and whether an EMDR Intensive

may be a supportive option for your care.

This isn't about rushing the healing process. I believe meaningful nervous system change often happens over time, within the safety and continuity of a trusted therapeutic relationship.

An intensive simply gives us more time and spaciousness when the work calls for it.

You're welcome to schedule a free consultation call to meet, share what you're looking for, and see if working together feels like a good fit.

Scheduling & Fees

Virtual EMDR Intensives are typically two-hour sessions

and are billed at my regular hourly therapy rate.

Depending on what we're working with and what feels supportive, we may schedule:

  • One two-hour intensive
  • Two-hour sessions two or three times within one week
  • Two-hour sessions spaced across several weeks

Before your intensive, we'll prepare together, identify the focus of our work, and talk about how to create a supportive physical space for your session.

Afterward, whenever possible, I encourage you to leave yourself some breathing room rather than immediately filling the rest of your day with obligations.

We'll decide together what schedule makes sense based on your goals, where you are in your therapy, and what feels supportive for your nervous system.

Sometimes we can't wait for weekly sessions over months or years.

Sometimes we need relief sooner.

We meet for extended period of time, possibly for more than one day a week.

Your schedule, current nervous system capacity and goals help determine how we schedule for you.

It can be hard when you open up in therapy about deeply rooted wounds, and then before you know it the time is up.

You weren't ready for the time to end.

We can move through as much as possible as we set the conditions for this to be safe, productive and healing  for you.

Connect with Your Body’s Wisdom

This is so important and essential for building capacity to be with the tough experiences of life, past or present.

Your smart brain will not let you work through the hard stuff without some safety tools in place first. Otherwise, it just shuts down.

This resourcing experience is often sweet and strengthening at the same time.

It's not just checking a box.

For some people the inconvenience of scheduling and getting to sessions while also working and doing other things, makes it too hard to actually come to therapy.

Having a blocked off focused amount of time virtually works better for some people.

Why is a mind-body connection important for me?

Because it can help keep you safe, connected to yourself, living your life in the direction you want it to go, and give you a greater chance of befriending and caring for yourself, and others.

Most of us have not learned how to do this, and you're not expected to come in already knowing. We will work towards this together!
