We specifically work with your stress response to life situations.
We restore your inner pathways to come back into balance so that you feel better, have access to life choices and more ease in your body-mind and heart.
With Somatic Experiencing sessions, your body starts to re-organize how it responds to stress. It's not a thinking thing, we use the body to change the brain, for good.
Together we teach and remind your body and brain to talk to each other in a way that helps you.
You learn to create a lively and kind mind-body connection.
Developed by Dr. Peter Levine, Somatic Experiencing helps us gently reshape our stress or threat response so that we don't stay stuck in high states of stress (fight or flight), or collapsed in exhaustion.
With a regulated nervous system your mind can think more clearly, and emotions & choices can begin to make more sense. The body can relax from the inside, and often we feel better physically and mentally.
I'm so happy to share these benefits with you.

Sometimes we work on completing incomplete defense responses, that are held up in the body and now causing you stress, pain or some current limitation. Sometimes the completion is saying out-loud the thing you wanted to say back then, but couldn't (safely) say at the time.
Another example in Somatic Experiencing, of completing an incomplete defense response is to make a gentle physical movement like pushing out with our arms or turning away to the side, in the event our body wanted to do that during a past event, yet didn't get to complete it because that action was thwarted. (Example car accident, fall or confrontation)
The benefit of Somatic Experiencing is to restore your internal signaling system now so that you are not stuck in a fight or flight, or freeze response, which gets in the way of ease, balance and living a full life.
